After only 7 1/2 years my Rheem A/C unit, model #RPQL0303EZ, blower motor module burned out, in turn causing the evaporator coil to crack and leak and therefore the freon leaked out. This is very unfortunate, as I elected to replace my older AC unit, which was only 10 years old and had no issues, so I could have an energy efficient model and supposedly save money.
Ha...that didn't happen. This cost me far more than any savings replacing my previous unit would have cost me to keep until it broke, it worked fine. Like they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I would NEVER, EVER buy another Rheem unit again.
The only thing they covered were the parts.
I got hosed on the labor. Lesson learned!
